Wundowie Kart Track - eV Challenge Host 2013 - 2018

"One of the most competitive eV Challenges in 17 years"

The 2017 eV Challenge, hosted at Wundowie Kart Track (approximately 70 kilometers north-east of Perth CBD) saw a very close year of competition in all three fields with the three overall podium places all finishing on the same lap!

As with all eV Challenge events since 2013, the main event of 2017 commenced with scrutineering to ensure the vehicles complied with the CAMS-approved technical regulations. A team manager & driver brief preceded a track walk before the on-track activities began with a combined field of Class A & Class C vehicles and finished with the highly competitive and populated Class B event.

Event Wrap-up

The main event of 2017 was a resounding success with 9 schools from Perth and the South-West entering multiple vehicles and a highly competitive open class also participating.
Not only was the build quality of the vehicles visible during scrutineering but it also showed on track with few breakdowns and with the Class B winner finishing only 1 lap down from the Class C entries; well done to all the schools who competed and provided some great on-track entertainment.

The eV Challenge also received a lot of positive press thanks to the efforts of teachers, our sponsors and private teams who contacted media outlets and released articles through their schools.
